Looking to build on the massive momentum of The Beatles Remasters campaign, EMI is re-releasing remastered versions of the John Lennon catalog in conjunction with the 70th Anniversary of his birth.
One of the biggest goals is to introduce the Lennon catalog to new youth segments. Thanks in part to the popularity of The Beatles Rock Band there has been a surge of interest from a younger demographic. EMI is also looking to re-engage lapsed fans with new product offerings that include music and merchandise as well as satisfy true fans with expanded offerings that feature new elements and collectibles.
The first release will be Lennon Legend in March 2010 with additional releases rolling out over the rest of the year and into 2011.
